Sunday, 7:30 p.m., Yppenplatz Vienna
On this Sunday, May the 8th – ‚Victory Day’, the day of liberation from Nazism – right-wing extremists want to hold a protest vigil for the woman that was murdered openly in the streets last week.
The neofascists ‚Identitarians‘ wallow in a both calculated and disgusting manner in the victim’s blood and portray her as a martyr of their movement. If one analyses the level of satisfaction that is apparent in the exploit of her death – she obviously can’t voice her objection at all -, one could assume that nothing better could have happened to them.
It is not a problem that there is a commemoration, but that this ‚commemoration‘ is used by a right-wing group of extremists to fuel nationalistic-rascist ressentiments and grudges. Fascists are not concerned about human life. Those who demand firing orders at the borders and who want to further close the European fortress – therefore those, who promote the deaths of even more people who are fleeing -, cannot be trusted to have empathy towards humans. Those who love life don’t become fascists! The ‚Identarian Movement‘ simply wants to set a provocative act and start an attack on an alternative district that is shaped by migrants.
Just a few years ago, a ‚remembering of the dead‘ – organized by the fraternities in the WKR – took place yearly in Vienna on May the 8th. National socialism was blatantly mourned, a reversal of perpetrators and victims was carried out and nazi crimes were played down and trivialized. This farce was stopped by longstanding anti-fascist protests. Don’t let the right-wing extremists hold a racist manifestation on the 8th of May at the Yppenplatz!
The same fascists want to rally through the district on the 11th of May. You can find more information on this on nofascism.noblogs.org
For life and against death!
For a nazi-free 8th of May!
